Creamed Tuna on Toast Recipe

Here's the favorite of my kids. This is the recipe they beg me to make as often as possible. It's easy and can be modified with whatever you have in your cupboards that will go with it.  A simple one-dish meal, gotta love it!

Serves 4 adults


  • 1 can of tuna
  • 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can of peas or one cup of frozen peas
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese
  • 2 boiled eggs, sliced or diced
  • 4 slices of toast, biscuits or any of your favorite breads
  • salt and pepper to taste or your favorite seasoning (I use Mrs. Dash)


In a large pot, slowly heat on medium-low heat, add tuna, soup, peas, cheese, eggs and seasonings. Heat until warm, stir occasionally. If it seems to thick or you need to stretch it a bit to feed some bigger mouths, add some milk to it. Once heated and cheese is melted serve on warm toast.

It's that simple!


  • Serve on english muffins, biscuits, rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.
  • Add extra cheese or eggs when you want to stretch it more.
  • Use chicken and cream of chicken soup instead of tuna and cream of mushroom. (I have used any of the creamed soups when I'm out of the cream of mushroom).
  • Use green beans instead of peas or any other vegetable.
  • Use ham and cream of potato soup instead of tuna and cream of mushroom.
  • If you don't have tuna or any other kind of meat, increase the eggs and have creamed eggs on toast. Great for breakfast!
